  My go-to cafe/diner in the Stony Brook area. The food is great, with quite a variety available for both breakfast and lunch (the pato loco burrito, with smoked duck, is one of my favorites). The basic coffee is pretty good, beating regular diner coffee, and the surroundings are nice. The staff are a friendly bunch and make pretty much every visit enjoyable. It gets really busy on the weekend, especially when the weather is nice, and you can't book a table in advance - so be prepared to wait (sometimes up to 30 minutes, but they give you a buzzer so you can walk around the center of Stony Brook).
  
  They now (finally!) take debit and credit cards, so no need to worry about bringing cash.

  Been there many times! The food is absolutely delicious and presentation lovely. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Moreover, if you go, you're gonna have a great morning. It's so popular, so make sure you get there early.
